Gifts of Kindness
What is Daya Hārda?
Daya Hārda is a branch of Asha Marie that hosts donation based yoga events and safe spaces to raise money for various charities. From this place of Seva, we are able to gather as a community, flow through the practice of asana and connect with one another on a deeper, more meaningful level. The level of giving back.
The words Daya Hārda derive from Sanskrit, daya meaning 'compassion' or 'gifts' and hārda meaning 'kindness'. But we at Asha Marie Yoga like to say, 'gifts of kindness'. What better words to embody this movement, and to live by?
This foundation means so much to me, not just from a place of teaching yoga, but channeling the gifts and knowledge I have acquired through my personal practice and teaching into a much larger picture. I am a social justice warrior, as well as a yoga for the people type of person. I have spent better parts of my life volunteering for various organizations, and after becoming a yoga teacher I knew my dharma reached beyond any studio walls. Being able to marry the two has been a long time dream of mine, and watching it breathe into fruition truly has me over the moon. All events are donation based, allowing the attendee freedom to donate as much or little as they can, without exclusion.
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu: May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may my thoughts, my words, and my actions contribute to the happiness and freedom of all.
Do you have a charity or foundation you would like to see represented through Daya Hārda? Please connect with me, I would love to help bring light and awareness to your organization through yoga.
